The City of Berkeley,
Marina Experience Program presents the Bay Festival,
at the Berkeley Marina on
Saturday, April 13, 2013 11-4:00 pm
This wonderful FREE event first happened 76 years ago
when the Marina first opened in 1937.
The Bay Festival now showcases activities and environmental education
that are available here at the Marina and all around the region.
Come celebrate the earth and our Bay
by listening to Music, eating wonderful food, and enjoying a day by the Bay.
Entertainment for all ages.
The 2013 event is for all ages,
providing information about green building
as well as summer program offerings and locations for educational trips.
It is held outdoors in the Shorebird Park
and will be the only outdoor Earthday festival in Berkeley.
Our Food vendors Zen Grill , Fist full of Flour pizza co.,
Kernal Korn and Smoke Berkeley will provide wonderful food for you .
The entertainment will be spirited with
Gary Lapow -children's music in the morning ,
Dana Smith an entertaining juggler
and The Bay Area Back pages (Oldie goldies),
jamming for you.
The Adventure Playground will be open for children to build
with hammers, nails, saws and paint ( and parental supervision),
The dragon boat and Cal Sailing Club will provide a splashing experience in the bay
if you join them for a ride.

Main event on the lawn area of Shorebird Park in front of the Nature Center.

Off the South basin dock there will be free sailboat rides offered by the Cal Sailing Club
and sign-ups in the main festival area to go out today for paddling lessons in the Berkeley Dragon Boat,
Thought out the day,
our unique Adventure Playground will be open to the pubic.
In Adventure Playground,
kids of all ages are encouraged to build, paint, climb, and ride the zip line.
Parents must supervise their children in the park and sign the waiver as they enter.
To help the environment,
we encourage alternate transportation and carpooling,
if you are riding your bike, you can park it next to Adventure Playground during the event.

We will be having tours through our new environmentally sensitive classroom and our straw bale building. Come meet the architects and green product providers.
